Enquiries and Conversion placement - 15 hours per week

Doing a work placement is a fantastic way to learn about the professional world. It will build your confidence and look great on your CV. Employers look for it, so it will give you the edge when it’s time to start your career and it can lead to job offers in the future.

This micro-placement is available to 2nd or 3rd year students who may not have had relevant work experience related to their studies.

The placement will be based within Solent University for the equivalent of 2 days (15 hours) a week (7.5 hours per day) for up to 10 weeks.

You will need to register with Campus Jobs if you are successful at the interview.

Students may wish to use this placement towards a placement requirement of their course or outside of their course. Please specify in your Cover message if you are planning to use this experience as part of a core work placement unit. 

About the role

You  will prove a highly customer-focused administrative service to include responding to ask@solent enquiries, using the CRM, compiling reports, converting enquirers to applicants through a variety of marketing approaches working closely with colleagues in the Marketing and Digital team.  A key part of the role will involve providing assistance for Clearing, Enrolment and Welcome Week.

Responsibilities:

As an Enquiries and Conversion placement student you will work to deliver the following strands of work:

Enquiry Handling

  • To support with the team in answering enquires via Ask@Solent.
  • To update the CRM in respect of all interactions with prospects.
  • Assist with running reports on enquiries and assist with tracking prospects from leads
  • Participate in pre and post event communications via telephone, social media or digital applications

Event organisation

  • Assist with the organisation of interviews/auditions/portfolio viewings
  • Assist with the organisation of the Applicant Call Centre
  • Assist with the organisation of Clearing
  • Assist with the organisation of Enrolments
  • Assist with the organisation of fun activities for Welcome Week
  • Assist with running reports on events pre and post event
  • Attend and support all recruitment events

Admissions Administration

  • Assist with printing offer letters
  • Assist with mailshots

About you:

  • Studying towards an undergraduate degree at Solent University.
  • Customer service experience would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Competent in IT skills with proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proven ability to analyse a variety of statistical data sets
  • Excellent administrative skills in managing own workload
  • Proven organisational skills and dedication to completing tasks and projects in a timely manner

The placement is only available to Solent undergraduates who meet the following criteria:

  • Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree at Solent University
  • In their 2nd or 3rd years
  • Have no work experience in a professional office environment
  • Students holding a visa will need to check their Biometrics Residence Card (BRP) for work conditions.
