Recruitment & Conversion placement - 15 hours per week

Doing a work placement is a fantastic way to learn about the professional world. It will build your confidence and look great on your CV. Employers look for it, so it will give you the edge when it’s time to start your career and it can lead to job offers in the future.

This micro-placement is available to 2nd or 3rd year students who may not have had relevant work experience related to their studies.

The placement will be based within Solent University for the equivalent of 2 days (15 hours) a week (7.5 hours per day) for up to 10 weeks.

You will need to register with Campus Jobs if you are successful at the interview.

Students may wish to use this placement towards a placement requirement of their course or outside of their course. Please specify in your Cover message if you are planning to use this experience as part of a core work placement unit

About the role

You will support in the delivery of a programme of key conversion activities and events to support the progression of prospective students to Solent University as well as to support work towards meeting Solent University’s student recruitment objectives. The role will support in evaluating the impact of events and activities with particular focus on ROI analysis and report provision. The programme of activities currently outlined are new for the coming cycle and the provision of in-cycle analysis to support proactive and rapid evidence based decisions is key to the success of the University’s recruitment strategy.

Responsibilities:

Data management and analysis:

  • To support in data management from external events attend by the wider Student Recruitment team, including uploading of data and information into the CRM system (MS Dynamics Online)
  • To support in appropriate segmentation of data to support prospect relevant conversion activities
  • To support in data analysis of conversion events and activities and delivery of ROI reports to inform review and development of activities/events

Delivery of recruitment and conversion activities:

  • To work with teams across the Admissions and Recruitment Centre in delivering a number of conversion events and activities including:
  • The annual Applicant Contact Centre
  • The Undergraduate visit days
  • Admissions Interview days and post-application events
  • Pre-applicant prospect campaigns such as pre-event calls, post event emails and multiplatform messaging (including social media and SMS)
  • School/college applicant conversion activities including in-college visits and workshops
  • Assistance with organising Postgraduate events on and off campus
  • Assistance with organising Open Evenings
  • Administrative support of delivery of the newly developed ‘Pre-applicant prospect conversion plan’, including management of key timelines, support in delivery of activities in liaison with the relevant Regional Student Recruitment Officer and the provision of project updates and in-cycle feedback

UCAS Administration:

  • Assisting with booking of events
  • Assisting with organising logistics
  • Assisting with booking Student Ambassadors
  • Attendance at UCAS fairs

Person Criteria

  • Some experience of working within a team
  • Project administration and delivery
  • Strong communication skills within a variety of media to include strong written and oral communication
  • Attention to detail and solid levels of accuracy
  • Developed organisational skills
  • A good level proficiency in standard office systems (e.g. MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
