Social media and journalism internship
The Staff Canteen, the UK’s leading chef platform, is looking for interns to join our fast-growing and dynamic website to help deliver both written content and increase our social media presence.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small but busy editorial team that is leading the way in online chef networking.
- As an intern for The Staff Canteen you will gain experience in news gathering and writing roles and promoting content across our range of social media platforms. Full training will be given by our Social Media Manager on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pintrest and YouTube.
All interns will have the chance to get bylined content on the site which generates around 100,000 page views each month.
There will also be opportunities in a range of online content management roles such as uploading content to the website, editing images in Photoshop, proof reading copy and editing content. This is an ideal role for an undergraduate studying journalism or media-related subjects with an interest in food and cooking, or for a recently qualified graduate looking to gain further experience.
The role will be based at our office in Basingstoke and we have availability from September to December.
Internships will range from a minimum of two weeks to a maximum of three months depending on each individual’s availability and requirements.
This is an unpaid role but expenses can be negotiated and will be looked at on an individual basis.
Please note this opportunity is unpaid, and it is for students who undertake compulsory placements as part of their course. Solent University does not endorse unpaid opportunities outside of the curriculum.
