Do you have green fingers? Are you keen to work with plants? We are looking for volunteers who enjoy being outdoors to work in the garden at a residential care home. We have a summer fete coming up on the 1st of September and we are searching for volunteers to help clean up our garden in time!

Responsibilities:

The volunteer will carry out general gardening and maintenance duties including:

  • General tidying of our garden areas
  • Weeding
  • Planting
  • Pruning

About You:

We are looking for dedicated individuals with some knowledge of gardening and/or food growing. If you have skills and experience, or just enthusiasm and a willingness to help, we would love for you to help us develop our garden. The role would suit someone who has the following qualities and skills:

  • Friendly
  • Knowledge/experience preferred, or an interest and enthusiasm in gardening
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Understanding of confidentiality
  • Reliability

Hours: We are looking for volunteers who will commit to a few hours helping in the garden. The days and times are flexible.

Training and support:

  • As a volunteer you will be given an induction when you start
  • A staff member will support you throughout your time as a volunteer
  • We will provide training when necessary

Start date: Immediately

Further Information: A DBS check is required
