Marketing Assistant

Eric Robinson Solicitors are looking to recruit a Marketing Assistant on a fixed-term contract.

The successful applicant will be based in the Firm's Southampton office but may be expected to travel to the other branches, and external events when necessary. 

The purpose of the role is to provide efficient administrative support to the Marketing Manager, staff and Partners across the Firm.


  • Client Service
  • Maintaining current material on community noticeboards
  • Liaising with external venues when assisting with organising events
  • Plan, organise and participate in promotional events and conferences and support marketing activities for our multiple fairs
  • Coordination of internal staff events
  • Help to drive online traffic with web-related campaigns and social media
  • Prepare pages for the new website 
  • Review and update literature 
  • Liaison with external design, print and promotional companies
  • Assist with creation of client Newsletters
  • Maintenance of client/contact database
  • Proof reading and checking of adverts and other marketing materials
  • Internet Market Research
  • Providing reports and statistics and analysing data including client feedback
  • Support with general marketing administration 
  • Department / Legal Knowledge
  • To possess a good understanding of Marketing
  • To communicate department processes to Partners, staff and third parties clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Administrative Support
  • To provide effective assistance to the Marketing Manager and to assist on Reception, when required
  • To undertake all necessary administrative duties effectively and accurately so as to assist the Marketing Manager and comply with all office procedures.
  • File Maintenance
  • To complete and file work produced in a timely manner.
  • To maintain an awareness of the current status of each Marketing matter and use this knowledge to update Partners, staff and third parties, as and when appropriate to do so.
  • Diary Management
  • To manage own diary and that of the Marketing Manager ensuring that efficient and accurate diary systems are maintained.
  • To book appointments ensuring that relevant information is obtained and provided to the Marketing Manager
  • To diarise key dates and to carry out tasks / actions as and when appropriate

  • To ensure that only matters appropriate to the role of the Assistant and within their ability are handled ensuring that matters are referred to the Marketing Manager or, other personnel when appropriate

  • To comply with all specified systems and procedures of the Firm but always be alert to seeking ways of improving the same.

  • To support, assist and share information with other Staff and the Partners when appropriate
  • To endeavour, at all times, to further the best interests of the Firm.

  • To carry out any other duties as reasonably requested.

Please note, if you are a holder of a Tier 4 visa you will have certain conditions and working restrictions attached to your visa. Generally, students studying towards a degree level qualification (NQF6) or above are restricted to a maximum of 20 hours work per week during term time, which is reduced to 10 hours per week for students studying below degree level. It is a criminal offence to breach the conditions of your visa, and anyone found doing so by UK Visas and Immigration is likely to have their permission to stay in the UK cancelled.
