We currently have an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor within our Aerospace and Technology (A&T) team based in Westlakes, Cumbria. The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the facilitation and management of Early Warning notices to/from subcontractor via risk reduction meeting (as required)
  • Assist in the assessment of subcontractor applications
  • Assist in the certification and payment of subcontractor applications
  • Issue withholding notices and notification of payments as required
  • Help to maintain EAC, final cost forecast and raise PIA's as required for authorisation
  • Assist in the management of contract correspondence to ensure compliance with the NEC3 timescales and subcontract 'reply' periods
  • Co-assess and evaluation of subcontractor compensation events
  • Prepare Project Managers Instructions to subcontractors
  • Assess subcontractors NCE's/CEQ's/CE's
  • Ensure that all new contracts have an accepted programme
  • In the event of CE's ensure that the contractor's submission satisfies cost, time and risk
  • Assist in ensuring that all subcontract reporting requirements are met.
  • Assist in the completion and maintenance of trackers TQ, EWN, PMI, CE, CEN
  • Contribute to accruals process as required
  • Gain experience to offer contractual advice to Project Engineers
  • Co-attend fortnightly EAC Review meetings
  • Assist in furnishing the client information/meetings as requested
  • Co-attendance at meetings with SL
  • Co-attendance at monthly commercial meetings
  • Assist in the collation of information for the monthly commercial report
  • Attendance at meetings as required
  • Interface with client team members

About You

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or part complete
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Previous QS work experience as Contractor/Consultant is desirable
  • NEC3 aware is desirable
  • ARICS is desirable
