OMW is building a new Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) function within the CIO area to enable OMW to make IT, Information and Change decisions that align to and enable its future strategies, whilst embedding a proactive risk management culture. 

Our priority in establishing this governance function is to ensure we have sufficiently robust structures in place to facilitate effective oversight and management of IT, Change and Information risks across OMW. 

As we build out the function, we will, where appropriate, incorporate best practices from the Enterprise IT Governance Framework ‘COBIT 5’ to support our processes. 

The governance function will cover all activities under the CIO (Chief Information Officer) including IT, Change, Information Security, 3rd Party Management, Data and Business Resilience.

The CIO Governance Analyst will join this small, specialist team to support the maturing of GRC processes across the CIO organisation. 


  • Implementation and assurance risk management processes for CIO functions including:
  • Risk Appetite Reporting including KRI reporting
  • RCSA process including supporting, monitoring and challenging risk and controls reviews and RCSA status reporting
  • Implementing and assuring new risk management processes for CIO organisation ensuring adherence to risk acceptance and escalation processes
  • Ensuring adherence to Terms of Reference and overall effective governance for CIO governance forums
  • Partnering with 2nd line Risk 
  • Championing risk management and control awareness, pro-activity and culture change
  • Governance processes to ensure compliance with the CIO Policies & Standards
  • Governance reporting at all levels of governance for CIO including:
  • Risk reporting
  • Audit reporting
  • Controls reporting
  • Continuous improvement of reporting to drive performance optimisation and value creation
  • Partnering with internal audit to facilitate audit planning, review, escalation and remediation for CIO 
  • Supporting the organisation to ensure it can effectively implement and operate the business strategy
  • Championing continuous improvement in all processes

About You

  • Thrives working in environment going through significant change
  • Honours degree 2.1 or above
  • Experience in some or all of the following preferred:
  • Financial Services in particular IT, client services and change/project management
  • Governance or GRC roles 
  • Audit / assurance roles
  • Management Information (MI) and reporting
  • Managing stakeholders
  • Project management skills preferable
  • Competent with MS office suite of products
  • Process-driven and organised
  • Excellent oral and written skills including the ability to communicate technical subjects to a non-technical audience
