We are now seeking a talented and highly skilled Junior Digital Designer to join our in eCommerce team. This is a unique role, reporting to the Senior Digital Designer but working closely with the broader eCommerce team and our in-house Design team.  The successful candidate will be passionate about digital graphic design and will combine exceptional levels of creativity with proven technical ability.

Responsibilities

  • creating innovative digital assets in keeping with the brand values of the business, to include email campaigns, homepages, social networks, press & affiliate content and other media channels
  • maintaining brand guidelines across all channels, including a fully responsive website and marketing channels
  • preparing designs for web and cms systems
  • working with the in-house photography studio and design team to steer online creative
  • developing flawless customer journeys to help customers navigate the website and ensuring full customer satisfaction, better online conversions and improved brand recognition
  • designing bespoke mobile responsive weekly emails and landing pages
  • assisting with the design of digital content across desktop, mobile and other emerging digital channels
  • producing web layouts with usability and brand continuity in mind
  • ensuring that all current content works online, across all formats
  • reacting quickly to ad hoc and last minute requests based on current performance
  • basic image re-touching if needed
  • adapting designs for international sites and customer communication

About You

  • previous web design experience, preferably gained within a fast-paced, high street retailer
  • ability to naturally excel in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail
  • passion for all things design
  • proven experience of digital/online content design
  • good eye for layout, typography and photography
  • some experience in html, css and email marketing
  • good understanding of website information, navigation, seo, accessibility and usability
  • knowledge of responsive web design
  • proficient in using the adobe creative suite, mainly working photoshop
  • understanding of front end development for ecommerce websites
  • knowledge of html and css
  • excellent typography and layout skills
  • good commercial awareness
  • knowledge of best practices and usability and awareness of web standards
  • an interest in new technologies/developments, and forthcoming trends e.g. Html5, responsive web design
  • excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan, organize and prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines
