Responsibilities

  • Research, conceive and develop software applications to extend and improve on Google's product offering
  • Contribute to a wide variety of projects utilizing natural language processing, artificial intelligence, data compression, machine learning and search technologies
  • Collaborate on scalability issues involving access to massive amounts of data and information
  • Work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve
  • Design, test, deploy and maintain software solutions.

About You

  • BSc/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in engineering/programming in Java or C++
  • Completed projects (inside or outside of school) or classes focused on Data Structures and Algorithms resulting in the ability to select and implement an algorithm, using appropriate data structures to efficiently solve a problem; interpreting algorithms and contributing ideas to their development
  • MSc degree or PhD is preferred
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems, networking, and related software infrastructure
  • Familiarity with programming/scripting (C++, Java, Python, Perl, JavaScript, shell) languages, especially in Linux/Unix and browser-based environments is preferred
  • Background in web applications, mobile applications, and multi-tiered systems will be advantageous
