Winnall Rock School is a community music project in Winchester.
our core service provides weekly sessions in our Winnall studios to help young people learn or improve guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, technology, performance, singing and songwriting in a safe and informal way. We are a charity and these courses are offered free to local young people who may not otherwise get the opportunity to make and learn about music.
we have a brilliant team of tutors led by professional musician Chris Redmond and we are now recruiting some new tutors to help us out. So, if you are an experienced guitarist, bass player, drummer, keyboard player, vocalist / songwriter, female or male, and you think you would enjoy helping young people to learn, please do get in touch with us.
- Experience of teaching or working with young people would be an advantage but is not essential as training and support will be given by our friendly team. We'd be happy to hear from students looking for experience to enhance their CV.
- Our tutors are volunteers but we do offer free training opportunities and can help with travel expenses. You might also get the opportunity of paid work helping with some of our other music workshops.
Everyone working at WRS is checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as part of our child safeguarding procedures.
core sessions are term time Tuesday evenings from 4.45 until 9, with two age-groups 10-14s and 15-18s.
