Herts Urgent Care (HUC) is seeking compassionate, motivated and organised 111 Call Handlers for our NHS 111 service. As a highly successful not-for-profit Social Enterprise with a goo CQC report providing excellent and quality unscheduled care services, HUC offers a supportive, enjoyable, team-based culture.

Responsibilities

  • Be trained to be fully confident and proficient in the NHS Pathways system
  • Carry out an assessment of patients need
  • Ensure that patients are prioritised appropriately and directed to the right place, first time
  • Identify and safeguard appropriately any issues regarding a vulnerable child or adult
  • Share and utilise areas of knowledge and skills to enhance patient care

About You

  • Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can demonstrate empathy, patience and compassion
  • Able to listen carefully and record details accurately
  • Strong IT and keyboard skills
  • Able to commit to working a 24 hour rotating shift pattern including working weekends and public holidays
  • Be able undertake a 4 week full time training course prior to starting the position, for which you will be paid
