Carnival UK are looking to engage with experienced procurement professionals to join our leading Procurement and Supply Chain directorate. 

The overall purpose of the role is to work within Supply Chain as part of a Category Procurement team, this role will manage the day-to-day procurement activity of Goods and/or services that support the CUK fleet of 11 Cruise ships across 2 Corporate Brands. You may be placed in one of 3 teams depending on your experience – Hotel (including Food & Beverage and Linen & Soft Furnishing), Technical and Indirect.

Responsibilities

  • You will act as the liaison between the fleet and and head office, supporting teams relating to commercial supply matters. 
  • Responsible for the full end to end procurement process from sourcing against a definition of need (Requisition / specification) through to confirmation of delivery and supplier payment. This is achieved through collaborating closely with the various business partners from product specialists, through to supply chain, logistics and ship staff. 
  • Utilise agreed corporate or local price agreements to obtain best efficiency and cost savings for the overall benefit of CUK and Carnival Corporation. 
  • Instigate and conduct supplier meetings where appropriate to support operational objectives. 
  • Work with other Supply Chain staff and operational / product teams to support and implement the agreed sourcing strategies across selected categories, ensuring quality, price and supply logistics meet our business needs. 
  • Ensure the timely and efficient provision of all goods and services within a category including sourcing of one off and infrequently purchased items through to setting up ongoing supply contracts. 
  • Identify further opportunities to drive service to our fleet and business and maximise value for money. Supported by others, conduct regular analysis of supplier spend and volume data, reducing overall supply chain costs or leveraging spends where scale allows, moving down the supply chain toward original product source. 
  • Through negotiation and good procurement practice achieve cost and efficiency savings to exceed the departmental targets 

About You

  • Naturally, you will be able to demonstrate your procurement experience with previous experience in relevant categories, your strong negotiating skills as well as your ability to manage suppliers.
  • Your concise and influential communication style, coupled with your ability to discuss complex issues with clarity and credibility will also help you to stand out from the crowd.
  • Knowledge of purchasing systems and processes would also be preferable.
