About Enable Leisure and Culture

Who we are

Enable Leisure and Culture (ELC) is a not-for-profit organisation, company no. 09487276, and registered with the Charity Commission (no. 1172345).

Established in October 2015, we provide leisure and cultural services for the benefit of local communities. Our responsibilities with our client, Wandsworth Council, include; arts and culture, bereavement, events, filming, leisure and sports, parks, public halls, Putney School of Art and Design and the management of the Parks and Events Police.

We’re an organisation committed to ‘doing things differently’, putting health, wellbeing and community at the centre of everything we do.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR)

Enable Leisure and Culture is committed to corporate social responsibility, addressing the ethics of our activities and business sustainability. We recognise that our organisation’s activities impact on society, the environment and the economy.

We focus on the rights and wellbeing of our employees and other workers, as well as attempting to maximise the positive impact of our activities on the community.

We already work closely with schools and community organisations in Wandsworth to encourage and support accessible and affordable sports, leisure and cultural activities, contributing the health and wellbeing of local people.

Leisure and Sport Services

The Leisure and Sport Services department has three main areas of work;

  • Facility management; we manage six sports facilities in Wandsworth including a boathouse and two athletics tracks 
  • Sport and Physical Activity Development; delivering a range of activities, courses, and initiatives to encourage residents to participate in more sport and physical activity
  •  Active Wandsworth; we lead on the local sport and physical activity network producing and overseeing the delivery of the Active Wandsworth Strategy, the Get Active Wandsworth Festival, and the Active Wandsworth Awards.
