About TryTeaching. The National Graduate Teaching Internship Scheme
TryTeaching is a graduate recruitment agency specialising in the recruitment, training and development of graduates for schools and the wider education sector.
It was established in 2016 by education professionals with many years, public and private sector experience, of setting up and running national level teacher recruitment, training and development schemes.
TryTeaching has created the National Graduate Teaching Internship (GTI) Scheme, a unique new work experience or internship scheme, providing graduates with paid opportunities to try working and teaching in a primary or secondary school or academy.
Many graduates have considered teaching but do not feel sufficiently certain to apply directly for a postgraduate initial teacher training course and pay up to £9,250 in tuition fees. Becoming a teacher can be expensive and graduates want to be certain they get that decision right before committing time and money.
Far better for graduates to find out about teaching first and that is what the National GTI Scheme does. It provides graduates with a paid working experience so that they can make their mind up based on real, first-hand knowledge.
TryTeaching supports graduates who wish to continue in teaching to do so. Graduates who decide that teaching is not for them will have gained valuable, documented work experience that will support them to gain other employment.
