Science Virtual Bootcamp
Why Data Science?
Just as an academic career allows us to pursue interesting questions and contribute to our fields, data science is a chance to use the skills we gained from academia to tackle big problems across all industries. Even better, you can see the impact of your work, and it could make a real difference to society; for example using deep learning to monitor, predict, and reduce pollution in London, which could save up to 10,000 premature deaths every year.
Your blend of programming, mathematics, statistics and curiosity are an excellent foundation for a career in data science, and your ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike is a powerful skill. The missing piece of the puzzle is commercial experience, and this is where Pivigo can help.
We facilitate and support postgraduates transition from academia into data science through our boot camp. By empowering participants with the commercial experience needed to get a job in data science, we give our alumni the edge on the competition.
During the five-week programme, you will work on a commercial data science project for a company, network with other programme participants and industry professionals, and gain vital commercial, teamwork and business communication skills. You will also apply and develop your technical skills within a business environment. At the end of the programme, you will join our growing network of over 400 alumni, from whom you can seek advice and help throughout your career. In addition, the Pivigo team is also there to provide advice and support as your data science career develops.
Our graduates have gone on to work for household names and the hottest start-ups alike, including KPMG, Google, Facebook, IRIS.AI and many more. As long as you have a masters degree or higher, intermediate programming experience (ideally in Python or R), come from an analytical background and have a desire to become a data scientist you are eligible to apply.
Applications for our Virtual October 2018 programme are now open and close 13th July 2018. For those accepted on to the programme, there is a small registration fee of £800.
