To assist with the schools liaison function in the recruitment of learners to the College and its courses through outreach and development work.   To support Events held in the College including HE Fair, Fresher fair and supporting students with Events that they wish to run.

To support the Sport department in ensuring that all students are given the opportunity to access sports.  To support students in the gym and to encourage students to access sport. 

To work with the Director of Student Experience to ensure that potential and current students have an enjoyable experience.

To maximise learner recruitment and retention through by assisting in the development of a seamless learner journey.

To produce, with support, appropriate and relevant marketing materials to achieve this goal.

Working within the Student Experience team the role will contribute to the achievement of the college’s Strategic Plan

Objectives:

  • For all our 14-19 learners to progress into employment or higher education
  • To be the first choice provider of vocational learning for young people in our region

Objective:

  • To improve and amplify BCoT’s reputation and increase learner numbers year on year

 

Responsibilities

  • Assisting and ultimately delivering engaging presentations, and activities in schools to explain the value of vocational qualifications and the benefit of study at BCoT
  • Assisting in the creation of a seamless learner journey experience in collaboration with other corporate and curriculum departments to increase retention rates of learners
  • Proactively working with local schools to develop relationships with schools’ staff
  • Working to targeted levels of engagement within schools
  • Supporting the creation of links between the college and curriculum areas in schools
  • Assisting at college promotional events and events for visiting groups of school students, including taster days, student visits and other activities including sporting activities
  • Attending careers events on behalf of the College and conveying why students should chose BCoT in a succinct and memorable way
  • Assisting in the development of a ‘keep warm’ strategy to ensure an ongoing relationship with prospective learners is maintained.
  • Assist in the running of recruitment events along with the Marketing Team and other staff across the College.
  • To work with the Director of Student Experience to support the Student Union and Cross College enrichment events.
  • To work with the sports department, promoting physical activity across the college, to support tournaments and competitions as appropriate.  To promote the use of gym and encourage students from across the college to take part in enrichment activities. 
  • To work with the Director of Student Experience to ensure we are listening to Student Voice and ensuring that the whole student body has a voice.
  • Be proactive in developing new ideas and initiatives to forward the reputation of the College.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Director of Student Experience.

About You

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above, or equivalent
  • Ability to prioritise and multi task
  • Confident in delivering presentations to groups of young people
  • Ability to establish rapport with a variety of potential students
  •  Excellent written communication skills
  • Experience of updating web pages and social media such as Twitter and Facebook
