The primary purpose of the job is to ensure that the small arms, medium calibre weapons and ancillary equipment maintenance are carried out efficiently and to quality. You will be assigned tasks by the Deputy Armourer/ Armoury manager to help assist armourers in their daily tasks.


  • Take the lead and ensure the small arms and medium calibre equipment is maintained as directed and available to meet the customer's requirements/range programme
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out within compliance
  • Fault Identification and Isolation skills
  • Be willing to take on training to ensure all knowledge is up to date
  • Knowledge of Section 5 Legislation

About You

  • HND-HNC Mechanical Engineering
  • IT literate
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Strong Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Safety awareness
  • Full and Valid, Clean Driving License (Cat B)
  • Gun Smith or Armament Apprenticeship in weapon maintaining or equivalent experience (Desirable)
  • Qualification courses on small arms or medium calibre weapons or equivalent (Desirable)
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (Desirable)
